Founded in the summer of 2018, subtle cheetah brass quintet is made up of members Kevin Barnes, Olivia Pidi, Sarah Konvalin, Julie Dombroski, and Morgan Fite. From 2018-2019, subtle cheetah took part in the Orchestra of St. Luke’s Chamber Music Mentorship Program. Under the guidance of American Brass Quintet bass trombonist John D. Rojak, subtle cheetah performed in Cary Hall at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, the Glassbox Theater at the Mannes School of Music, and Greenfield Hall at the Manhattan School of Music, as well as outreach concerts in Manhattan. Committed to advancing a diverse pool of voices in the classical music world, subtle cheetah was recently awarded a grant from the Alsop Family Foundation to curate a concert of works by underrepresented composers in the contemporary classical community. subtle cheetah is committed to creating high quality performances that merge new works with the existing brass quintet repertoire.
